In 1900 he was residing with his parents Ned and Nora Townsend at White Oak, Ingham County, Michigan. At 17 he was still in the family home.

 

By 1920 he had married Gladys Lucinda Smith and started a family. On June 5th 1917 he had completed his World War 1 draft registration.

 

He was described as Tall: Meduim built, Blue Eyes and Brown Hair

 

In 1928 his wife died

 

The 1930 US Federal Census has Fay living at White Oak with his young family, his brother and sister-in-law. She was housekeeper. They too had a young family. His youngest daughter at this time was residing with her Grandmother, Matilda Smith nee Sharland.Source: Roll 992 Page 7A Emuneration District 63

 

He remained at White Oak until his death in 1978
