Information from Richard Inglis passed to him from a Brian Phillips (NH email 31 January 2007). "According to Brian Phillips the entry in the Parish Register for Ffrancis, baptised 23 Jan 1623, the entry was out of sequence and had been written in by Ffrancis himself in a space after 1642. On the opposite page he had apparently written a short verse, the translation of which goes: He that goeth forth and reapeth bearing precious seed shall ..... born again with rejoicing bringing his harvest with him. Look to yourselves with conscience your.......for conscience will damn and conscience will save. By me Ffrancis Ffey his hand and pen so be it Amen. (Witness) Simon Wykes Register of Drewsteignton." In 1673 Francis Fey is recorded as deputy churchwarden and in 1674 as Churchwarden.
There is a record of marriage between Ffrancis Fey and Eleanor Browning, both of Drewsteignton on Saturday 1 May 1675.
The Protestation Returns confirm that John and Francis fey are in Drewsteignton in 1641/42. Edward and Richard have not signed - maybe too young?
