Note on Husband: John DART
John and Amy emigrated to Australia. He took up land at Tallegalla, part of an area know as the Rosewood Scrub, west of Ipswich in Queensland. In 1876 his residence became a Postal Receiving Office. John was instrumental in establishing the Tallegalla State School. In 1885 the family moved to Brisbane, then to Wynnum, where he opened a general store and to some extent worked as a blacksmith.2
