Joseph Monroe Mitcham

Rockland-- Funeral service for Joseph Monroe Mitcham, 59, was held Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Rockland Baptist Church with Brother Fred Yount officiating. Burial followed at Rockland City Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday evening at the church. Mr. Mitcham passed away Sept. 23, at his residence. Born Dec. 25, 1943 in Tyler County to Willey H. and Lou Bessie Williams Mitcham. He lived in Tyler County all of his life. He was a truck driver and a member of the Rockland Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He is survived by his daughter, Tamantha "Tammy" Mitcham of Jasper; sisters, June Mitchell of Kountze, Zula "Sue" Bassett of Snyder, NE., Becky Gilchriest of Lumberton; brothers, John C. Mitcham of Rockland, Wiley A. "Billy" Mitcham of Sallisaw, OK. and Wesley Mitcham of Lumberton; grandchildren, Chrystilia Maree Turner and Alexander Galane Turner both of Jasper. Serving as pallbearers were Kenny Mitcham, Robert Mitcham, Michael Mitcham, Scott Mitchell, Billy Mitchell, and David Gilchriest. Services were under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
