Colonel: Soldier, in Cromwell's New Model Army. MP for Tipperary. He was made Governor of Galway in 1655. His regiment of foot was disbanded in September 1655 and he was granted estates in County Galway and Tipperary, including Kilnelagh Castles in Lower Ormond, which he renamed Sopwell Hall after his family's seat in England.3
