Recorded as Gentleman of North Tawton, and mortgaging Addiscott, South Tawton and land of Edmund Knapman. Numerous apprentices between 1760 and 1808, at Northweek, East Yeo and West Yeo.In 1803 he appears as a Farrier in the transcription of the North Tawton 1803 Census on the www.devonheritage.org web site, though farrier is sometimes a mistranscription of farmer.
